Meet our Fund A Cure Speaker Melissa Kampmann

Our family has been working hard to raise money to find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and this year is no different as I am honored to be the featured Fund A Cure Speaker at the 11th Annual JDRF Celebrity Gala. On Saturday, February 7, there will be a moment when the room is stilled and the story of hope unfolds. This is when I will be telling my personal story with T1D. I was diagnosed with T1D 24 years ago. My worst nightmare came true when my precious daughter was diagnosed with T1D three years ago at the age of five.

This is exactly why I got involved with JDRF. I am excited to share our story with you and how I participated in a Human Clinical Trial focusing on JDRFā€™s exciting work on the Artificial Pancreas Project. This year, we have chosen to designate all funds from Fund A Cure to this Cure Therapy.

Your Fund A Cure gift is 100% tax-deductible and goes directly to research. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Donate to Fund A Cure

Fund A Cure is an opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of people living with T1D through a 100% tax-deductible donation, which will be invested in a specific area of life-changing research.

Where do Fund A Cure donations go?

100% of Gala donations are directed to the Fund A Cure program. This yearā€™s Fund A Cure program will benefit research on the artificial pancreas.

What is the Artificial pancreas?

JDRF’s Artificial Pancreas Project will link continuous blood sugar readings to an insulin pump through a sophisticated computer program that automatically calculates and directs the delivery of the necessary amount of insulin just like a normal pancreas.
